More fun facts about African wild dogs

Within the pack, all of the adult males are related to each other, and all of the adult females are related to each other. But know female is related by blood to an adult male. Pack size averages about seven to eight individuals, but for short periods of time-usually no more than two months-a pack may include as many as 50 dogs. New packs are usually formed when two sisters-commonly litter mates from one pack-join three or four males from another pack.Wild dogs are led by an alpha male and female.
